The Cabot Lady Panthers welcomed the Jonesboro Lady Golden Hurricane to town, then sent them packing with an 8-1 win.
It took a few innings for the bats to get going for the Lady Panthers, but they managed to take over the game in the sixth inning.
Cabot did get on the board first with Molly Wood leading off the second inning with a walk. Macee Abbot walked to move Wood into scoring position for a single by Brandyn Vines to knock her in for a 1-0 lead.
The Lady Panthers increased their lead to 2-0 in the third inning when Erin Eckert tripled, then scored on a single by Heather Hill.
Jonesboro finally broke through against Cabot pitcher Lauren McCluskey with a run in the top of the sixth inning.
That run seemed to light a fire in the Lady Panthers, as the home team took over the game in the bottom half of the inning.
Hannah Montgomery led off the bottom of the sixth with a walk, followed by Vines reaching on an error. A sacrifice bunt from Lane Justus gave the Lady Panthers their first run of the inning.
Rachel Allgood, Eckert, Kaitlyn Felder and Wood all singled around a walk to Hill as Cabot pushed six runs across to take an 8-1 lead.
In the circle, McCluskey allowed a few base runners, giving up just three hits, but walking six. She struck out four in the seven inning complete game.
Cabot next faced North Little Rock, but fell to the powerful Lady Wildcats. Hill had the lone hit for the Lady Panthers in the loss.
