The Cabot Lady Panthers bounced back from a loss to North Little Rock by beating West Memphis in three games. The scores were 25-8, 25-10, 25-20.
With the win, Cabot is 10-7 overall and 5-5 in 7A/6A-East action.
In the match with North Little Rock, Cabot won the first game 25-22 but fell behind 7-0 in the second game and didn’t recover, losing 25-15. North Little Rock won the third game 25-18 and the fourth game 25-20.
“We took control of the first game with our game speed,” Cabot coach DeAnna Campbell said.
Campbell said North Little Rock’s speed took control in the last three games.
“I can’t say we weren’t hustling,” Campbell said. “We are just not as fast as them, speed-wise. They are just really fast. Their setter is amazing. They kept running low, short sets and we couldn’t follow it.”
Against West Memphis, Cabot’s Haylee Callison returned to the lineup after missing several weeks because of an injury she suffered in a tournament at Russellville.
“We are a lot better with her,” Campbell said. “With the lineup we have, we need every player out there. We can’t have one of those kids missing out of that lineup. It’s because they have played together for so long. It’s nothing against the other players. These guys are just so used to each other.”
