Steven McGraw

Steven Michael McCraw, 24, died suddenly, Monday, March 17, 2014 in Cabot. He was born in Silver Springs, Md., April 28, 1989, to Michael E. McCraw and Donna K. Clark Crawley. He attended preschool through the eleventh grade at Mantachie High School and was a graduate of Riverview High School in Searcy. He was self-employed as a building contractor. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He enjoyed drawing, playing with children, and all God’s creatures, particularly dogs. He had a huge heart for others and could always be found joking and making others laugh. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Mantachie.

A celebration of life service was at 2 p.m., Thursday, March 20, 2014, in the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Bro. David Knight officiating. Private burial will follow in Walton Cemetery (Itawamba Co.). Visitation was March 19 from 4-7 p.m. and March 20 from noon to service time.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca McCraw of Brinkley; his son, Michael McCraw of Mantachie; his daughter, Madison Henley of Brinkley; his parents, Donna and David Crawley of Mantachie and Michael McCraw of Cabot; his sisters, Brandi McCraw of Mantachie and Julie Thompson (Tracy) of Mooreville; his brother, Eric Crawley of Mantachie; his grandparents, David and Shirley Burgeson of Saltillo, Lonnie and Betty West of Mantachie, and Kenneth and Mary Clark of Itta Beana; his nephews, Ethen Thompson and Chase Crawley; his niece, Kloey Thompson; several aunts and uncles. Steven was preceded in death by grandparents, Earl and Mary McCraw, Dennis and Cora Crawley; great-grandparents, Harold and Burvil Farris, Everett and Evelyn West, JW and Kathleen Griffin, Sam and Francis Timmons.

Pallbearers were Sammy McCraw, Tracey Burgeson, Roe Gregory, Daryl Beltz, Ethen Thompson, and Tracy Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be his high school classmates.
