Robert D. “Bob” Salzman, 84, of Cabot died Sunday, April 7, 2013. He was born Jan. 19, 1929 in Libertyville, Ill. to Herman F. and Margaret Bauer Salzman. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Woodstock, Ill. and was a member of Cabot United Methodist Church. He retired from the United States Air Force as a Chief Master Sergeant, after 30 years of service to his country. After retirement he was in the real estate business, Dyson Oil Company Sales, and worked in the Rolling Hills Country Club Pro Shop for several years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Shirley Dhom.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Phyllis C. Jumper Salzman of Cabot; sons, John Todd Salzman and wife Kelly of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Philip Craig Salzman of Cabot; daughter, Robin Diane Salzman Johnson and husband Johnny of Russellville; sons, Robert Stephen Salzman and Mark Allen Salzman and wife Carrie; daughter, Sharon Jordan all of Illinois; seven grandchildren; sisters, Jean Reeb and Marge Lipinsky and husband, Ronald; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at Cabot United Methodist Church. Burial immediately following in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
The family requests memorials to the 6C staff, and the Hospice nurses at the V.A. Hospital in Little Rock.
