John Palsa

John Leslie Palsa, 33, of Carlisle, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at UAMS.

He was born on Oct. 4, 1979, in Pine Bluff. John was a graduate of Carlisle High School and a graduate of Arkansas State University in Jonesboro with a degree in Agricultural Business and a degree in marketing and was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Upon graduation he returned to Carlisle and pursued his lifelong passions of farming and traveling. He never met a stranger and never judged a book by its cover. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Carlisle.

He is survived by his parents, Tim and Sue Palsa of Carlisle; one sister, Melanie Palsa Brown and husband, Chuck of Carlisle; three nieces, Madeleine, Olivia, and Nina Catherine Brown, all of Carlisle, and a host of family and friends worldwide.

Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at the First United Methodist Church in Carlisle. Pastor Mitch Dulaney conducted the service. Pianist was Jo McCallie and special music was provided by James Gosney of Carlisle and Mike Green of Fayetteville.

Visitation was from 5-8 p.m., Friday, Aug. 30 at the Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Interment was in the Carlisle Cemetery.

A memorial fund has been established at First State Bank in Lonoke.
