Flora Glodean “Dean” Haislip, 89, of Cabot died Thursday, July 4, 2013. She was born April 13, 1924, in Marked Tree, to Frank and Dollie Haislip. She was a faithful member of the Church of God International, she loved singing and playing music at nursing homes and was a member of the Sunset Strummers, The Krack Pots Band and the 49ers. She worked as a most coveted head waitress for the Holiday Inn and the Four Winds. She also worked at the Jacksonville Ordinance Plant during WWII and delivered meals for Meals on Wheels.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and the father of their children, Carl S. Gately.

Survivors include children, Jan Gately Hughes and husband Dickie of Ward, Gwen Gately Dees of Austin, and James Gately and wife Gigi of Lonoke; brother, Bill Haislip of Springfield, Mo.; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

A funeral was held 2 p.m., Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ron Elkins officiating. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.
