Eleanor Staton

Saturday, May 24th, Eleanor M. (Gilbert) Staton of Quitman, formerly of Cabot, died Saturday, May 24.

She was born Aug. 27, 1929, to Sarah and Earl Gilbert in Auburn, Nebraska. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters; Erma, Mildred, and Carrie. Eleanor was a member of Kaley Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Quitman and former member of Charity Missionary Baptist in Ward.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Wayne, and son Darrel (Joni) of Quitman, daughter Brenda of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and son Earl (Debbie) of Mayflower, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, sister Lola Fae Ramer of Benton, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was Thursday, May 29 from 6-8 p.m. at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home, 700 N. Second, Cabot. Funeral service will be Friday, May 30, at 10:30 a.m. at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home with burial to follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Cabot.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Prairie Union Cemetery c/o Elizabeth Sowden, 29 Kali Court, Vilonia, AR 72173 or to Mt. Carmel Cemetery, P.O. Box 1092, Cabot, AR 72023.
