MSgt. Daniel Ray Wassom II, 31, of Vilonia died Sunday, April 27, 2014. He was born Oct. 21, 1982, in Jacksonville to Daniel Ray and Pamela Peters Wassom. Daniel grew up in a military family and was known as “Bud.” He attended Cabot Schools where he played the trumpet and graduated in 2001. He also graduated from UCA with a Bachelors Degree in Health Administration. Daniel was very patriotic and joined the Air National Guard shortly after 9/11 and made a career of the military. Daniel was a C-130 Evaluator Loadmaster. He voluntarily served in Kuwait in 2010 and truly loved his job. He was always outgoing and had friends all over the world. Daniel was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Wayne Wassom and Jack Peters.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Suzanne Kemple Wassom; their daughters, Sydney Elizabeth Wassom and Lorelai Sophia Wassom; his parents, Daniel and Pamela Wassom of Cabot; three sisters Misty Dawn Hambrick of California, Katie Lynn Childs of Korea and Leolani Mei Wassom of Cabot as well as his grandmothers, Sharon Peters of Cabot and Carol Arnett of Oklahoma.
Visitation was from 9-10 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2014; funeral services began at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Jacksonville. Burial will followed at Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens in Beebe under the direction of Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home.
