Charles Franklin Brown of Carlisle, 70, was born April 12, 1943, the son of the late Charlie Thomas Brown and Hattie Mae Edge Brown, passed away June 7, 2013. Known to family and friends as Charlie, he was born and raised in the Lonoke and Prairie County area.
He graduated from Carlisle High School in 1961. During his life, he worked in several locations around the state, including Sheridan for 20 years, and Russellville for fifteen years before returning home to Carlisle and working for the Senior Citizen Center in Des Arc before retiring.
Charlie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Charlotte Raborn Brown and his daughters, Sharla Diane Haswell of Carlisle, and Charla Denise Harris and her husband, Richard Harris of Bigelow. He has four granddaughters, Heather and Makayla Nance of Benton, Ericka and Jessica Osborne of Bigelow, a grandson, David Osborne and his fiancee, Amanda James of Maumelle and two great grandchildren, Skyler and Natalie Coughlin of Searcy. He has one sister, Virginia Roe of Lonoke and numerous nieces and nephews all who he loved and cared about dearly.
All services were held at the Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Visitation was from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 10. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 beginning at 10 a.m. Burial was in the old Carlisle Cemetery.
