Cabot School District will be holding lockdown drills on Tuesday, Jan. 29, at four schools; parents of students and area residents need not be alarmed on seeing emergency vehicles at the schools on that day.
Superintendent Tony Thurman, in a letter, explained that school district emergency procedures are being tested and observed to ensure the safety of the students. “We believe it is important to have open communication and planning with our local emergency responders when evaluating our lock down procedures,” he said.
All administrators, counselors and nurses in the Cabot School District will be required to attend one of the drills, Thurman said.
The drills will be:
8:30 a.m. – High School;
9:45 a.m. – Junior High School South;
1 p.m. - Stagecoach Elementary School;
2:05 p.m. – Middle School South.
