Panic button, reserved parking, backpack donation at school board meeting

High-tech “panic button,” a record donation, bragging rights on students and reserved parking and seating were among the issues considered at the Aug. 18 meeting of the Cabot School Board.


Tentative future of West Main Street, from Northport Drive to Arkansas Highway 5, is to possibly become a four-lane, raised median roadway, shown in a graphic from the access management plan under consideration by the Cabot Planning Commission. Early suggestions would reduce the number of median breaks, combing Nos. 3 and 4 in the same general area; the dashed lines are possible new roads, linking to a fourth interchange with U.S. Highway 67/167.
