Youth Waterfowl Hunt permit drawing

Cache River National Wildlife Refuge is accepting permit applications for the Youth-Only Waterfowl Hunt. Permits will be selected by random drawing; applications will be accepted Nov. 1 – 30, drawing will be Dec. 9.

Youth ages 15 and younger can apply for permits to occupy one of five designated blinds to hunt waterfowl on a drawn weekend date during the regular duck season. If drawn, the permit holder can invite one additional youth, age 15 or younger, to participate in the hunt.

At least one adult no less than 21 years old must supervise youth hunters but will not be allowed to hunt.

Volunteer mentors will be available with advance notice to supervise any youth who may need assistance.

To apply, submit a 3 x 5 index card with the full name (first, middle, last), mailing address, and telephone number of the youth hunter. Duplicate, unclear, or incomplete entries will not be accepted.

Mail to: Cache River NWR; 26320 Hwy 33 South; Augusta, AR 72006

Persons selected will be notified by mail and given a blind permit (no fee), a full list of refuge regulations and a map identifying the blind/hunt area.

Drawn hunters will be placed in the first available blind/date (Saturday or Sunday) as drawn.

Permits are non-transferable and valid only for the youth whose name appears on the permit and guest.
