Yahoo, school’s back

The first day of the 2013-14 school year took on the air of football rallies with cheerleaders, costumed teachers and caped administrators welcoming students back to the classroom. “Isn’t this a much better way to start off,” Tanya Spillane, middle school and freshman programs coordinator, said of the Junior High North opening session. Teachers were introduced football team style, while “superhero” teachers led in cheers interspersed with descriptions of coming events. Opening rallies were held at both Junior high schools.
