Woodlawn News

On Thursday, Dec. 5, the Woodlawn Community Center opened its doors at 10:30 a.m. to 26 friends and neighbors.

President Cecelia Anderson opened the program with the group reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America,” accompanied by Anita Weathers on the piano.

Ruby Kittell gave the invocation, remembering our friends and neighbors that were unable to attend.

Mayor Cypert from Cabot visited and sang “Amazing Grace.”

The Camp Ground Express band, featuring Kern Kennedy, B.J. Greenwood, Robbie Reed, and Earl (Pop) Burgess, entertained everyone with oldies, but goodies. Kern Kennedy is famous for his keyboard and playing with the Pacers.

Ruby Kittell blessed the food. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and fellowship.

Next Thursday, Dec. 12, is Bingo day.

Everyone is invited to attend the Thursday Woodlawn Community Center’s events at 10070 , Arkansas Highway 31 North.

Come early for a cup of coffee, and bring a dish for potluck.
