Having worked in the rural healthcare setting for the past 12 years, Dr. Carl Vest will feel right at home when joining Baptist Health Family Clinic-Cabot on Sept. 3.

Specializing in family practice, Vest previously practiced family medicine with an emphasis on obstetrics for the ARcare clinic system. He was the sole provider of prenatal care for patients in three Arkansas counties, which included the nearby towns of Searcy, Bald Knob, Augusta, and Heber Springs.

“While I thoroughly enjoyed the medical care of women and children, since I stopped delivering babies I’m realizing the reason I went into family practice and will enjoy practicing the full scope of family medicine, especially preventative care,” said Dr. Vest.

A Texarkana native, with ties to Fayetteville and Little Rock, Dr. Carl Vest earned his bachelor’s degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN, and his medical degree from the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences in Little Rock. He completed his family practice residency at Northwest Arkansas Family Practice Residency.

Dr. Vest is married to Ashley Vest, who is a registered nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock. They have three children ages 5, 12, and 15.

Baptist Health Family Clinic-Cabot, located at 205 Westport Dr., Suite 1, in Cabot, offers a wide range of medical services for the entire family and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The clinic’s telephone number is 501-843-6585.
