On April 17, Jackie Andrew Jackson III, 23, Jacksonville was arrested following a traffic stop by Lonoke County Sheriff John Staley. Jackson was taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, he also faces a charge of driving with a suspended driver’s license.
Staley reported that he stopped Jackson at the junction of Helen Street with Arkansas Highway 367 at Ward, about 5:10 p.m., April 17, due to a traffic violation.
A check of Jackson’s license showed that it was suspended. In the process of the stop, an estimated 1.3 grams of methamphetamine in the form of “ice” and a set of digital scales was discovered.
A second arrest on April 17 was of John Emmett Davis, 35, of Cabot, for the offenses of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Staley reported that the action was a response to a “tip” given the sheriff’s office of the location of a person sought on an arrest warrant.
Davis was found while attempting to crawl out a window and was taken into custody. During the arrest, about two grams of methamphetamine in the form of “ice, prescription medication, and drug-related paraphernalia were discovered and seized.
Davis was taken to the Lonoke County Detention Facility.
