Talley promoted in National Guard


Matthew Talley of Cabot has been promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the Arkansas Army National Guard. Talley successfully completed Officer Candidate School at the 233rd Regional Training Institute and was “pinned” with his new rank Sunday in a ceremony at Camp Robinson in North Little Rock. Talley was also recognized as the Distinguished Honor Graduate of his class.

Talley has been a member of the Arkansas Army National Guard for one year; his promotion brings a new position serving with the 87th Troop Command, 875th Engineer Battalion.

In civilian life, Talley works for the Arkansas Department of Correction as a probation officer.
