Pet Day to support international work

Cabot Junior High School South Builders Club members and the Cabot Kiwanis Club are sponsoring Pet Day at the Park, 10 a.m. to noon, April 5, at Cabot Community Pond.The day is part of a worldwide day of community service; the pond is at the junction of Campground Road with Kerr Station Road.

Pet Day at the Park is open only to dogs.

There will be a pet parade and Best-Dressed Pet Contest – each has a $5 entry fee.

Cabot and Ward animal shelter workers will be there with dogs from each shelter; you can rent a pet to walk in the parade.

Judges for the costume contest are CJHS math teacher Jordan Kephart; Lonoke County sheriff John Staley; and The Buzz 103.7 broadcaster Matt Travis,.

Proceeds will benefit each animal shelter and The Eliminate Project, an effort by Kiwanis International and UNICEF to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus.
