Online money claims at state auditor Website

Arkansans recovering money through the Great Arkansas Treasure Hunt may now file claims online. In a press release, state auditor Charlie Daniels announced that e-Filing is available at Anyone who has already made a claim can track the status of the claim.

E-Filing at the state auditor’s website was given a “soft launch” in January, Daniels said. Since then, there have been 1,243 claims filed online, averaging more than 100 per week. Claimants enter the required information through the secure e-Filing application; an identity verification test determines the claimant’s eligibility. The claim form can be completed in minutes; checks can be received within seven days.

Each year, millions of dollars in unclaimed property is turned over to the Auditor’s office by companies that cannot locate the owners. The auditor’s office currently holds about $170 million in cash, jewelry, coins, stocks and other assets to be claimed. The list of names may be searched at the auditor’s website,
