Local women gets second runner-up in pageant

Marjorie Byrum, 91, is a resident at Cabot Nursing and Rehab in Cabot and was recently named second runner-up in the Arkansas Health Care Association District 1 Queen’s Pageant at the Performing Arts Auditorium at UALR on June 6. She was born in Oklahoma but lived most of her life in Fort Smith where she and her husband, a PGA golf pro, owned and managed various golf courses in the Fort Smith/Van Buren area as well as Durant, Okla. She is preceded in death by her husband Leo Byrum and three children. She has two granddaughters, and four great grandchildren. Living locally are granddaughter Debbie Walters and great grandsons Matt and Luke Walters, all of Cabot.
