Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Lonoke County will hold the CASA Home and Outdoors, a fundraising dinner and auction, Sept. 24, CASA executive director Delyce Palik announced.
Proceeds from the event support the work of CASA and the volunteers who carry out that work, Palik said.
CASA Home and Outdoors will be held at the Cabot National Guard Armory, 300 Commerce Park Drive, in the Cabot Commerce Center near the junction of Arkansas Highway 38 with Highway 367, between Cabot and Austin. Tickets are $25.
CASA is a national nonprofit organization that trains and supports volunteers who advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children, Palik said. CASA volunteers are “people like you and I,” she said.
CASAs are appointed by judges to individual cases and work within the child welfare and family court systems, Palik said.
“With the help of a CASA volunteer, a child is half as likely to languish in the foster care system, and are much more likely to find a safe and permanent home,” Palik said.
“We invite the people of Lonoke County to stand with us and support these children by attending our CASA Home and Outdoors Fundraising Dinner and Auction,” she said.
