Cabot High School students in the Japanese III class and Japanese Club traveled to the University of Memphis to take part in the 2013 Foreign Language Fair on March 23.

The competition includes about 1,200 students from Tennessee and Mississippi. Events included poem recitation, vocabulary bee, haiku writing, singing, cultural projects, art, crafts, greeting card making and posters.

The Cabot students returned with 18 medals.

The 2013 Language Fair will be the last time Cabot High School will participate, ending long-standing tradition. Everyone came home full of good memories, according to Yaeko McNeir, Japanese facilitator and Japanese club sponsor.
