Cabot man killed in accident

One man was killed and another injured Saturday in a single vehicle accident on South Rockwood Drive. According to a State Police fatal accident summary, Christopher S. Wardrip, 25, of Cabot died when he was ejected from his car in a rollover accident.

Cody E. Wardrip, 21, also of Cabot, was injured.

The accident happened at about 4:50 a.m.

The summary reported that Christopher Wardrip was driving a 1993 Honda Accord, northbound, when his vehicle went off the roadway and overturned.

Cody Wardrip was transported to Baptist Medical Center at Little Rock.

The weather and road conditions at the time of the accident were described as clear and dry.

On Aug. 14, Kyle Wayne DeBlock, 22, of Ward, died in a single vehicle accident on South Rockwood Drive, about a half-mile north of the Greyhawk area.

DeBlock was northbound, operating a motorcycle, when he struck a guardrail.

A review of the Arkansas State Police fatal accident summaries showed one fatal accident each year since 2008 on the heavily traveled road, which includes one accident at the intersection with Arkansas Highway 89 and one at the intersection with Arkansas Highway 5.

There were no fatal accidents listed for 2010.
