Cabot AFJROTC Honor Guard wraps up year

The Cabot High School Air Force Junior ROTC Honor Guard drill team closed out the most successful year in recent memory after competing in multiple drill competitions around the state.

This year, the newly established armed and unarmed exhibition teams captured first and second place — the first exhibition trophies of any kind since 2005. The Color Guard also continued its winning tradition by winning first or second place in every competition. In addition, Color Guard fielded three separate competitive teams for one meet, a first for CHS in recent memory.

In all, the team collected 14 trophies and six individual medals. This is impressive considering the numerous changes in structure, command, and training as well as exhibition’s return from hiatus. In spite of the many successes, the team has yet to capture a coveted commander’s trophy, a goal the team has set for itself next drill season.
