Private water well owners in Lonoke County are needed by the Arkansas Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for a study of the impact of the 2012 drought. The study will be conducted the week of April 8.
Lonoke County residents who use private water wells water would join in a group discussion of drought experiences.
Discussion should last about 90 minutes; participants will receive $60 for participation and travel. Some residents may be recruited for the discussion.
The session will help public health organizations develop resources to assist private well owners with drought planning to ensure safe water supplies.
