Woodlawn News

On Thursday, Dec. 19, the Woodlawn Community Center opened its doors at 10:30 a.m. Twenty-five friends and neighbors attended.

President, Cecelia Anderson opened the program with the group reciting the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America,” accompanied by Anita Weathers on the piano.

Janet Ray gave the invocation, remembering friends and neighbors that were unable to attend.

Sue Swayne read a beautiful Christmas poem.

Before group singing, Janet Ray sang, “The Beautiful Garden of Prayer.” Everyone sang Christmas songs. We ended with “Amazing Grace.”

Darrell Tullos and his wife Sherrye presented a beautiful program of inspirational music and songs.

Darrell blessed the Community Center’s Christmas dinner.

The Woodlawn Community Center will reopen on Jan. 2, 2014. Our special guest that day will be Pastor Mark Brooks.

Everyone is invited to attend this special event at 10070 Arkansas Highway. 31 North.

Come early for a cup of coffee and bring a dish for potluck.

We wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
