On Thursday, July 25, the Woodlawn Community Center opened its doors at 10:30 a.m. Friends and neighbors that attended were: Andy Childress, Mary Thate, Birtha Larkan, Dorothy Henry, Dorothy Williams, Cecelia Anderson, Ellen Bryant, Sue Grady, Alice King, Dallas Swayne, Sue Swayne, Martha Hicks, and Anita Weathers.
Cecelia Anderson invited everyone to join her in saying the “Pledge of Allegiance.” After “God Bless America” was sang. Martha Hicks gave the opening prayer and also blessed the food for potluck . Get well prayers were said for George Wilson and Shirley Jackson. A prayer of condolence was said for the family of Paul (Buster)Norman.
Everyone enjoyed “playing gift bag bingo.” There were many interesting and useful gifts.
On Thursday Aug. 1, the Woodlawn Community Center will have an outstanding program with pianist James Baldwin as the guest.
Come and enjoy the Woodlawn Community Center’s Thursday events at 1007 Arkansas Highway 31 north. Come early for a cup of coffee and bring a dish for pot luck.
