On Thursday, July 11, the Woodlawn Community Center opened its doors at 10:30 a.m.

Friends and neighbors that attended were: Andy Childress, Roy Kittell, Fred Staley, Carolyn Staley, Dorothy Williams, Dorothy Henry, Joy Patterson, Kade Thomas, Lisa P. Thomas, Bruce Ray, Janet Ray, Stephanie Kirk, Sue Swayne, Dallas Swayne, Mary Thate, Birtha Larkin, Alice King, Sue Grady, Martha Hicks, Betty Maddox, Betty Stewart, Anita Weathers and Robbie Reed.

Roy Kittell invited everyone to join him in saying the “Pledge of Allegiance.”

With Anita Weathers at the piano, everyone singing “God Bless America.” Prayers were said for our friends and neighbors that are ill and unable to attend. A special prayer was said for George Wilson, our faithful member, who remains in the hospital.

It was a very special day, enjoyed by everyone, when our talented guest, Lisa Thomas and Fred Staley, presented a wonderful program, singing and playing special songs, inviting everyone to join in and sing with them.

Then on Thursday, July 18, 13 friends and neighbors enjoyed the day with Pastor and Mrs. W.C. Willis. Both are wonderful singers. Pastor Willis delivered many favorite quotations from the Bible.

Willis gave the closing prayer, blessing the food for potluck. Everyone enjoying their dinner and fellowship.

On Thursday, July 25, will be a fun day for the Center, everyone will enjoy playing “Gift Bag Bingo.”

Come and enjoy the Woodlawn Community Center’s special Thursday events at 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 north. Come early for a cup of coffee and bring a dish for potluck.
