On Thursday, May 16, the Woodlawn Community Center opened its doors at 10:30 a.m. with 24 neighbors and friends present.

Cecelia Anderson invited everyone to join her in saying the Pledge of Allegiance.

With Anita Weathers at the piano, everyone enjoyed singing “God Bless America.”

Bruce Ray gave the opening prayer, praying for friends and neighbors who are sick and unable to be in attendance.

Janet and Bruce Ray sang “Standing on the Promises of God.” Then after group singing and ending with “Amazing Grace.” The gospel singers (The Voices of Truth) from the “Covered in Blood” Church in Cabot, presented a wonderful concert and singing: “Just a Little Talk with Jesus,” “Let it be your boss,” “Let’s have a revival,”“I’m on my way to Heaven,”“Jesus, I just want to praise You,” “Nobody could be like Jesus,”“I will walk right beside you, so you wont fall,” “Where the soul never dies”and “The old rugged cross.”

Michael Sipe blessed the food for potluck. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and fellowship.

On May 23, Ronald House from Austin will be the guest speaker, presenting an interesting program.

Come and enjoy the Woodlawn Community Center’s special Thursday events at 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 North. Come early for a cup of coffee, and bring a dish for potluck.
