On Thursday, March 28, the Woodlawn Community Center opened their door at 10:30 a.m. Friends and neighbors who attended were: Cecelia Anderson, George Wilson, Dorothy Williams, Dorothy Henry, Mary Thate, Janet Ray, Andy Childress, Alice King, Anita Weathers, Dallas Swayne, Sue Swayne, Ellen Bryant, Martha Hicks, Roy Kittell, Ruby Bradford, Teresa Phillips, Betty Stewart, Jerry Miller, Sue Grady and Jackie Maxwell.

George Wilson invited everyone to join him in saying the “Pledge of Allegiance.” With Anita Weathers at the piano, everyone enjoyed singing “God Bless America.” Jerry Miller gave the opening prayer.

Teresa Phillips opened with a special song, “Take my hand precious Lord,” followed by Janet Ray singing “Calvary.”

After group singing of several songs and ending with “Amazing Grace,” It was with great pleasure that Jerry Miller, administer of music and church, formerly the Mt. Carmel Music Director, presented everyone with his inspiring gospel songs. Then His gospel topic for Maundy Thursday and Holy Week, was taken from the Book of Luke, chapter 22.

Miller delivered the final prayer and blessed the food. Everyone enjoyed a great dinner and fellowship.

Next Thursday, April 4, Kerry Weathers will be our guest speaker and talented singer.

The Woodlawn Community Center will have the 5th Sunday Gospel singing on Sunday April 7. beginning at 2 p.m. there will be refreshments. Contact George Wilson at 501-843-5213 for more information.

Everyone is invited to attend the Woodlawn Community Center’s special events at: 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 North. Come early for a cup of coffee and fellowship.
