On Thursday, May 2, the Woodlawn Community Center opened its doors at 10:30 a.m. There were 15 neighbors and friends were present.

Cecelia Anderson invited everyone to join her in saying the “Pledge of Allegiance.”

With Anita Weathers at the piano, everyone enjoyed singing “God Bless America.”

Rev. Jerry Nipper gave the opening prayer, praying for George Wilson, who is in the hospital, and also praying for other friends and neighbors who are on the sick list.

After special songs and group singing and ending with “Amazing Grace,” Rev. Jerry Nipper was the inspirational and guest speaker. His topic was “Are you ready for Heaven?”

Rev. Nipper blessed the food food for pot luck. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and fellowship.

Two new front doors were installed Thursday, replacing the older schoolhouse doors. It is a great improvement with community help.

This coming Wednesday, May 8, commodities will be handed out, beginning at 9 a.m. at the Woodlawn Community Center.

On Thursday, May 9, the Woodlawn Community Center will enjoy their gift bag bingo day.

Come and enjoy the Woodlawn Community Center’s special Thursday events at 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 North. Come early for a cup of coffee, and bring a dish for potluck.
