Showing horses earns three youths awards

Three youths, two of which are siblings, from Lonoke County recently won awards for showing horses.

Jacob Crowder received a grand champion and two reserve grand champions on the national level. Through the Natural State Miniature Horse and Shetland Pony Association, which is a local club, he won reserve champion youth halter, reserve champion 4-H halter and reserve champion 13-17 performance.

Kaytlyn Crowder has won numerous grand champion along with a several reserve grand champions nationally. Locally through The Natural State Miniature Horse and Shetland Pony Association, she won Champion youth halter, champion 4-H halter, champion 13–17 performance, and won reserve champion open halter with one point between the champion winner and her.

The third youth is Sophie Bunting. This was her first year showing at age 2 on the local level and won champion 7 years and under youth halter and she also won champion 7 years and under youth performance.

The Natural State Miniature Horse and Shetland Pony Association is planning their 2014 show season, and talk about another possible benefit horse show for a local organization. For more information, call 501-454-0972.
