Woodlawn News

Thursday was a nice, but warm day when the Woodlawn Community Center opened its doors at 10:30 a.m. Friends and neighbors that attended included: Cecelia Anderson, Dorothy Williams Alice Mathis, Betty Steward, Betty Maddox, George Wilson, Mary Thate, Birtha Larkan, Jackie Maxwell, Martha Hicks, Denna Carrow, Katie Carrow, Sue Grady, Shirley Jackson, Anita Weathers, Roger Warhurst and Roy Kittell.

George Wilson invited everyone to join him in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America.” He also gave the opening prayer. Prayers were said for so many of our friends that are on the sick list.

Everyone enjoyed playing bingo. It was a fun day for the group.

Pastor Wesley Howard of Mount Zion Methodist Church will be our inspirational guest speaker next Thursday.

The Woodlawn Community Center invites everyone to attend the Thursday community events at the center at 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 North. Come early for a cup of coffee, register for a door prize and bring a dish for potluck.
