Woodlawn News

Thursday was a beautiful day as the Woodlawn Community Center opened its doors at 10:30 a.m. There were 18 friends and neighbors in attendance.

Dallas Swayne gave the opening prayer. George Wilson invited everyone to join him in saying the Pledge of Allegiance and singing “God Bless America.”

Deena Carrow won the door prize.

Group singing was led by Janet Ray, with George Wilson playing the piano. Sue Swayne read her favorite poem.

The center regulars were delighted to have Andy Miller from Sherwood as the guest for the day. His program was about the history of his life, a great and interesting story.

George Wilson ended the celebration with prayer and blessed the food for potluck.

Next Thursday, June 14, is the day for the Woodlawn Community Center’s bingo game, a fun day for everyone with many surprise gifts.

Everyone is invited to the events at Woodlawn Community Center on Arkansas Highway 31 North. Come early for a cup of coffee and bring a dish for potluck.
