Woodlawn Community News

On Thursday, the Woodlawn Community Center opened it’s doors at 10:30 a.m.

Our friends and neighbors that attended were: Leon Hippler, Mary Thate, Birtha Larkin, Janet Ray, Shirley Jackson, Martha Hicks, Alice King, Dorothy Williams, Jerry Nipper, Cecelia Anderson, Doyle Anderson, Roy Kittell, Cricket Findley, Carey Findley, Anita Weathers, Jackie Maxwell, Dale Bonnar and Darrell Tullos.

Cecelia Anderson opened the program by having everyone recite the Pledge of Allegiance. With Anita Weathers at the piano, everyone enjoyed singing “God Bless America.” Pastor Jerry Nipper gave the opening prayer.

After a short business meeting and everyone singing “Amazing Grace,” It was with great pleasure that Darrell Tullos presented everyone with his famous variety of songs and music. Just a few of his songs were: “Just as I am, Means just as you are,” “Halleluiah Harmony,” “I am so Happy,” “Beulah Land” and “Thank you Lord, for your blessings on me.”

His last song was “An Irish Blessing.”

Tullos blessed the food for potluck. Everyone enjoyed the food and fellowship.

Thursday is gift bag bingo at the center, with a surprise gift in every bag.

The Woodlawn Community Center provides educational, social and recreational events at 10070 Arkansas Highway 31 North. Come early for a cup of coffee and bring a dish for potluck.
