Wiggins celebrate 65th anniversary

John and Pat Wiggins of Cabot celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary Dec. 4, 2013. The couple met at age 15 in Bellevue, Neb. It was love at first sight for John. He went home and told his mother he’d met the girl he was going to marry. His mother laughed, but four years later, Dec. 4, 1948, they married.

They are the parents of three children, John and wife Magi, Patty and husband Danny, and Mary and husband Bill. They have six grandchildren, Michael, John, Andrew, Adrianne, Joseph, and Sonia; three great-grandchildren, Stephanie, Savannah and Vaughn; and one great-great grandchild, Jacob.

Mr. Wiggins retired from the United States Air Force as a CMSgt in 1972 after serving 26 years and serving in World War II, Korea and Vietnam. After leaving the Air Force, he began a second career as a Little Rock mail carrier. He retired from that post to play golf.

Mrs. Wiggins spent her life as a homemaker caring for their family and running the household while he was away. She continues her work today. She loves to go to the library and reads every day. She also enjoys old music and old movies on television. The couple has enjoyed a lifetime of travel.
