‘What’s in a can?’ food drive at public library

During November, the Arlene Cherry Memorial Library is hosting the “What’s In a Can?” 2013 Canned Food Drive. Library patrons may donate canned goods at the library and have late fees accumulated during November waived from their accounts.

The purpose of the food drive is to support local organizations who give food to our community while helping library customers keep their accounts clear. Library staff member Cassie Abbott says that this food drive is important because it “helps the community come together.”

For every canned good someone donates, $2 of fines from items turned in during November will be waived from that account. Preexisting fines will not be waived. For questions about the program, your account, or creating an account, call 501-843-7661.
